Here at western hardwood floors we are experts in every aspect of installation, sanding, staining, and refinishing of hardwood floors. From your initial free estimate, to the timely completion of your project, our employees actively supervise and participate in each and every job.

The Refinishing Process
We start the refinishing process by sanding your hardwood floor with a rough paper to eliminate any depressions, dings, or inconsistencies, and to create a solid foundation to assure the best adhesion of your urethane. Moving to a finer sandpaper, we remove all scratches from the initial sanding. Because we use different machines for the main floor and edges, during the third and final stage of sanding, we buff the floor with a screen to bring the edges and main floor together before applying stain or urethane. Following all sanding and buffing, we employ the most thorough vacuuming process to remove all dirt and dust that could impair the finish quality. Next, we apply 2-3 coats of high-quality commercial grade urethane. Before applying the final coat, we will buff the hardwood floor to make sure that there are not any imperfections, creating the smoothest surface possible.

Pre-finished Flooring
Today’s pre-finished flooring comes in a wide variety of species, colors and widths. We will be glad to show you all of the styles and brands we have available, and order your selected flooring for you. We are also able to simply install the flooring for customers who have purchased the materials themselves. Pre-finished flooring requires no sanding.

Raw/ Unfinished Hardwood
